6 March 2025, Farnborough, UK: Alphabet’s Consultancy and Channel Development Manager, Caroline Sandall-Mansergh, has been recognised as a key figure in driving decarbonisation at the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association’s (BVRLA) 16th annual awards dinner in London on 5 March 2025.

Sandall-Mansergh, who joined Alphabet in 2022, was nominated as a stand-out performer in the Decarbonisation Driver category, helping the industry transition to more sustainable practices to reduce carbon emissions.

With over 30 years’ experience overseeing fleet management and mobility strategies, Sandall-Mansergh has become a well-known and trusted industry figure. Amid a time of unprecedented change, she has been key to driving several ESG (environmental, social and governance) and sustainability initiatives which support the transition to smarter motoring, corporate care sharing and electrification.

In 2024, more than 40% of the new vehicles delivered to Alphabet customers were battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Alphabet’s live fleet portfolio also surpassed one-third BEV for the first time, which marks a significant milestone for the business. It’s testament to Sandall-Mansergh’s considerable input, who facilitated 18 substantial consultations for large fleet corporate customers last year, aided by a high performing Alphabet team.

Speaking after the industry hero awards dinner, Sandall-Mansergh said: “I feel extremely honoured to be recognised by my industry peers. It comes from working with an incredible team that is committed to realising the best outcomes for our customers.

“Decarbonisation has become an integral part of Alphabet’s daily operations, so enhancing the support that we provide for customers is a primary focus for our team, as well as a passion of mine. It proves that, together, we really can bring about positive change,” she added.

Meanwhile, Adam Forshaw, Head of Communications at the BVRLA, said: "The standard of entries this year was exceptional, making it increasingly difficult for the judges to identify a clear winner in each of the three categories.

“It’s always inspiring to read about the great work our members are doing, and to have the opportunity to come together and recognise outstanding performance,” he added.

As a sustainability champion, Sandall-Mansergh is currently overseeing the launch of a new Carbon Manager fleet emissions reporting tool for UK customers. The web-based platform serves as an end-to-end sustainability management resource, empowering fleet operators to manage their vehicles’ net-zero journey.

Users of the software will be able to access unparalleled insights into their fleet’s overall carbon impact. The tool will also turn raw data, based on a company’s direct and indirect scope emissions, into actionable strategies that can facilitate an overall reduction across the fleet.
